Elika Yamauchi
Research Assistant
Elika (she/her) is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree, building on her experiences walking alongside diverse children, youth, and families with minoritized and marginalized identities. Since 2010, she has developed and coordinated community-engaged projects in various capacities, including child and youth work, outreach, child welfare, and Indigenous-led research. Her personal and professional practices are driven by social justice frameworks through critical examination of structural violence, and she is grateful for the opportunity to be part of integral discussions on the intersections of systemic racism, immigration, and child welfare.
