Briefing Note Submitted to MCCSS

On October 4th, 2021, the Border(ing) Practices team, in partnership with the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario (SALCO) submitted a briefing note to the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services to address the proposed changes to Ontario Regulation 156/18 - Minister’s Regulation Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017, specifically the proposed new requirements to comply with s. 109(2) of the Child, Youth and Family Service Act (CYFSA), which outline new requirements for identity documentation and regularization of immigration status upon admission into care.
