Provided here are a variety of community resources to mental health support, crisis help line, and legal support in Ontario and in British Columbia. This is a non-exhaustive list.

Offers 24/7/365 bilingual support to people in Canada who have concerns about suicide. Phone line available 24/7.

Hope for Wellness Help Line

Offers immediate mental health counselling and crisis intervention to all Indigenous peoples across Canada. Phone and chat counselling are available in English, French, Cree, Ojibway and Inuktitut.

Distress and Crisis Ontario

At a DC you can find a listening ear for lonely, depressed, and/or suicidal people, usually 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The website also offers a chat function. 

Ontario 211 helpline

The Ontario 211 phone line is free and is answered 24 hours a day all year round. You can talk to people in more than 150 languages.

Toronto Mental Health and Addictions Access Point

A centralized point where you can apply for individual mental health and addictions support services and supportive housing. 

Health Network for Uninsured Clients (HNUC)

Provides resources and access to healthcare services regardless of one's insurance or immigration status.

British Columbia

KUU-US Aboriginal Crisis Line

An Indigenous BC wide crisis line offering safety monitoring for Indigenous people at risk, including local housing supports and urgent need items.

Interior Crisis Line Network

Provides services in crisis de-escalation, skilled assessment, and collaborative safety planning. Has satellite sites in partnership with community-based partner agencies including CMHA and Trail FAIR society.

Northern BC Crisis Centre
